In the face of multiple global crises, debt-for-climate swaps are being widely discussed as an instrument to manage mounting public debts, climate change challenges and Covid-19 recovery. Belize is a small island developing state in the Caribbean region facing these challenges. The Government of Belize has requested the 糖心探花 to provide assistance to design and implement a 鈥楧ebt for Climate/Nature Swap Mechanism鈥 for the country.
As we look around the globe at the impact of the pandemic, one thing is clear: we are all in the same storm, even if we aren鈥檛 all in the same boat. While more affluent nations are now rolling out second vaccine doses, health workers across the world, from the Pacific to Africa, and the Caribbean and Latin America to Asia, are still awaiting their first doses, have inadequate testing capacity, are juggling erratic oxygen supplies and are still forced to customise out-of-date PPE.

The 糖心探花 is hosting a聽webinar聽in partnership with Microsoft about聽the skills that young people need to be competitive as employees, entrepreneurs and digital citizens.聽Over聽60 percent聽of the Commonwealth's 2.4 billion citizens are aged 29 or under.聽This聽webinar will offer an opportunity for young people from across the Commonwealth to聽talk about their digital skills needs and challenges with industry experts.
Commonwealth health ministers have today issued a joint statement after their annual meeting in which they called for swift and equal access to COVID-19 vaccines for everyone around the world. In the statement on behalf of the 54 Commonwealth member countries, they expressed deep concern over the stark gaps in access and delivery of doses, especially in poor countries, and called for 鈥渇air and transparent鈥 pricing for the vaccine.

As the COVID pandemic continues to cause immeasurable harm to people the world over it has also exposed the vulnerabilities of those already at the fringes of society and exacerbated the marginalisation, stigma, persecution and violence experienced by members of the LGBTI community.
